VAN MAHOTSAV 2014
VAN MAHOTSAV week was first initiated by Dr. K.N.Munshi, the UNION MINISTER of food and agriculture in 1950. The NATURE CLUB of ST. AGNES’ CONVENT SCHOOL (Green Peace) has inaugurated the VAN MOHATSAV on 28th June, 2014. The VAN MOHATSAV week extends from 1st July to 7th July.
This festival is symbolized by the joy of giving, the happiness that one receives in giving others something is precious than all other things. Keeping this in mind, the Nature Club members decided to celebrate THE JOY OF GIVING festivity. We planned to gift the deprived children ( Our Rainbow Children) chocolates, cupcakes, moori packets and biscuits. Every child has a right to enjoy their childhood.
SWACHCHA BHARAT ABHIYAN
Cleanliness is next to godliness. That’s the resolution we the Nature Clubbers took on Gandhi Jayanti, 2nd October, 2014 to support the Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan started by our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We explained to the students of all the classes about the importance of this project thereafter on every Friday (10th October, 2014 onwards) each class makes an effort to clean their own class. The Nature - Club (Green Peace) members clean up the basement, corridor and the hall. We hope everyone will help us to keep India clean.
All the Nature Club members would like to express our heart felt thanks to our Principal and the Nature Club teachers for helping and guiding us at every level.
SAVE THE DOLPHINS
Life was always waiting for the right moment to act. Well, we, the Nature Club members took inspiration from this line, and took a step forward to save the dolphins. It was on the 9th of August, 2014 that the Nature Club (Green Peace) members of classes VIII, IX and X got down at two destinations-SHOBHA BAZAAR and BAGBAZAAR to talk to the people, make them aware that the dolphins are on the brink of extinction and the various ways they can make an effort to help such innocent creatures. We put posters, spoke to local people and requested them to prevent pollution and also viewed the polluted Ganga. We have strived to make an attempt to help Mother Nature.
